Solemn Opening of SCO Auditorium at KUMU

At the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov, a ceremonial opening of the SCO Auditorium was held.

Rector of KUMU, Doctor of Economics and Professor Abdilbayet Mamassydykov, emphasized the importance of the newly established auditorium in strengthening cooperation among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. “Let the word ‘border’ lose its meaning, and may the concept of ‘friendship’ live forever. Everything we do today is for the sustainable future of the younger generation,” the rector noted.

Director of the SCO Center of Uzbekistan, Kasymzhan Sobirov, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome in Kyrgyzstan and the hospitality of the Kyrgyz people: “From the very first steps after crossing the border, we felt at home.” He also remarked that after 20 years he once again visited Osh, and was impressed by the city’s active development.

As part of the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between KUMU and the SCO Center of Uzbekistan, marking a new stage in academic and diplomatic collaboration.

Congratulatory remarks were also delivered by Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Karibaev, Deputy Consul of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Usmanov, and Deputy Director of the Cultural Integration Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Stalbek Bekbolotov.

The opening of the new auditorium represents another step toward expanding international cooperation, deepening diplomatic ties, and developing the educational space.
