Head of the Department of “Mechanics, Energy and Design” at the Engineering-Technological and Natural-Pedagogical Faculty of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University, textile production engineer-technologist and Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Gulnara Akmatova, took an active part in the IV International Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion”, held from November 17 to 24 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Within the framework of the event, the scholar presented a report entitled “National Traditions and Innovations: The Symbiosis of Culture and Fashion in the Design of School Uniforms in Kyrgyzstan and the Role of the University.”
The forum program included round tables, master classes, seminars, fairs, and fashion shows featuring leading universities of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Well-known brands from across the CIS and Russia were showcased, along with original collections by prominent designers. Representing Kyrgyzstan, the brand “EthnoPeri” participated with its unique ethno-style collection and received valuable gifts.
Organizers of the forum awarded participants with memorable prizes and offered them the opportunity to visit theaters, museums, and other cultural and historical landmarks of St. Petersburg free of charge. A highlight of the cultural program was the excursion to the world-renowned Fabergé Museum.

The forum was held at a high level and fully met international standards. The main events took place at the Tauride Palace and the St. Petersburg State University of Economics, with the support of major partners and sponsors.
