Students of the social Work program at the Faculty of Law and Economics of B. Sydykov Kyrgyz –Uzbek International university organized a charitable event as part of a themed week, dedicated to two important dates : October 1- the International Day of Older persons, and October 19 – the Day of Social Protection and Trade Union Workers in the Kyrgyz Republic. The week was held under the motto : “ Social Work – A Profession of a Humane Society”.
One of the most memorable events of the week was the charity fair titled “ One step toward Kindness”.
Students personally prepared homemade treats, and sold them at the fair. With the proceeds, they purchased food and gifts, which were then delivered to elderly residents of the “ Boorukerdik” nursing home in the city of Osh.
During the visit, the young people surrounded the seniors with warmth, kindness, and heartfelt attention. In return, the elderly expressed sincere gratitude, offered their blessings, and shared their joy openly.
This charitable initiative served as a vivid example of how values such as compassion, care for others, and social justice can be practiced in real life.
Through such efforts, the youth of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University make a meaningful contribution to society and embody the principles of social responsibility.
