The Kyrgyz – Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov is actively supporting a major project in the field of “ Green energy”.
Thanks to its geographical location and climate, Kyrgyzstan is a country with high levels of solar activity, where sunlight reaches the Earth’s surface on most days of the year. This makes the southern regions of the country especially favorable for the construction of solar power plants.
The use of alternative energy sources – solar and wind – is considered a strategic direction for ensuring the country’s energy sustainability and preserving environmental safety. In this area, state programs aimed at sustainable development are being consistently implemented across the republic.
KUMU fully supports the national energy and environmental policies and is actively engaged in meaningful work within this sphere. Notably seven years ago, the University built 6 kw solar power station as part of an international scientific project – a facility that continues to operate successfully to this day.
Building on this successful experience, a tripartite memorandum was signed on September 25-26 this year in Tashkent. Based on this agreement, KUMU will soon begin the installation of a 50-60 kw hybrid solar power station.
Today, the University hosted the first meeting and planning session for the implementation of this project. The event was attended by :
- Bahram Rasakhodzhaev, Ph.D, head of Laboratory at the National Research Institute for Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Idirisbek Kenzhebaev, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor of the “Energy” Department at Osh State University.
- Oskonbay Dilishatov, Ph.D Project Coordinator at KUMU.
KUMU Rector Prof. Abdilbaet Mamasydykov warmly welcomed the guests and discussed the development of joint scientific and practical initiatives.
