In Osh, following major reconstruction, two streets were merged and named after the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev. At the solemn ceremony marking the opening of the renewed public space, the faculty and staff of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University took part. This event became yet another testament to the cultural closeness, respect for language, and shared spiritual values of the two brotherly nations.
The ceremony was attended by Osh Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev, First Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the region Ilyaz Tashbaev, Chairman of the City Kenesh Bolot Bayetov, Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Osh Mukhtar Karibai, as well as local residents.
The renovated square, covering an area of 2,858 m², now features a monument and museum dedicated to Abai, newly laid paving stones, benches, lighting, and landscaping.
