At the B. Sydykov Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University, a special New Year’s celebration was organized for outstanding students. Leading students who achieved success in academics, science, sports, and cultural activities were honored.
At the opening of the event, the Rector of the university, Doctor of Economics and Professor Abdilbaet Mamasydykov, delivered a speech and congratulated the students on the upcoming New Year. He especially highlighted active students who have contributed to improving the quality of education and to the development of culture and sports, and wished continued success to ambitious young people. The Rector also emphasized that systematic efforts are being carried out at the university to strengthen friendship and unity, as well as to create favorable conditions for students to receive quality education.
As part of the ceremony, on behalf of the family of the prominent statesman Batyraly Sydykov, whose name the university bears, 10 students distinguished by their academic performance and social activity were awarded an annual cash prize of 5,000 soms each. In addition, on behalf of the university, 64 students who achieved success in sports and scientific fields received monetary awards of 2,000 soms each.
The festive evening was also attended by Iskhak Egemnazarov, a specialist from the Osh City Committee for Youth Affairs, who presented Certificates of Honor from the committee to three leading students of the university.
It is worth noting that currently nearly 15,000 students are studying at KÖEAU. At the end of the event, a New Year’s festive concert was organized for students, featuring songs, dances, and an entertaining program.
