Scientific Metric Databases and Indicators: A Key Step for Young Researchers

At the Faculty of Law and Economics of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after Batyraly Sydykov, a guest lecture was held for master’s students, postgraduate students, and young lecturers on the topic “Scientific Metric Databases and Indicators.”

The event aimed to provide systematic information about international scientific databases widely used in research, as well as key indicators such as the h-index and impact factor, and to explain practical ways of applying them.
The lecture was seen as an important step toward improving the quality of academic work, strengthening competitiveness in international rankings, and boosting scholarly activity.
The guest speaker was Ainura Muratalievna Khamzaeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, and Director of the Institute of Economics and Management at Osh Technological University. In her presentation, she offered practical examples and shared valuable recommendations on registering in international databases, creating author profiles, increasing citation rates, and properly publishing scientific works.
At the official opening of the event, Vice-Rector for Science of KUIE, Doctor of Economics, Professor Almaz Atabekov, and Head of the Master’s Department Nazira Tilekova addressed the audience, wishing young researchers success in their academic pursuits.
The lecture concluded with a lively Q&A session, during which participants actively engaged in discussion. The guest lecturer provided practical advice on publishing articles in international journals, improving research quality, and effectively using scientific metrics.
