At the Faculty of Law and Economics of the Kyrgyz – Uzbek International University , the Department of Economics, Management, and Social Work has launched a thematic week titled « Social work – a profession of a Human society», dedicated to the International Day of older persons ( October1) , and the Day of Social protection and trade union workers of the Kyrgyz Republic ( October 19). As part of the thematic week, various activities were held with the participation of students specializing in « Social work».
The goal of the thematic week- is to deepen student’s understanding of the importance of the « social work» profession in society, to cultivate compassion, humanity, and moral values and to enhance their professional motivation by engaging youth in socially beneficial activities.
As part of the thematic week, the following activities are being held :
An open lesson on the topic « Causes of violence and abuse against children in the family»
The charity fair « A step toward Kindness» , which has become a cherished tradition.
A concert program titled « Social work – a profession of a human society».
A charity event at the « House of Mercy» orphanage in the Osh city.
An open educational lesson on the topic « A home with the elderly is a home of well – being».
These activities have laid the foundation for enhancing student’s social responsibility and promoting national and human values.
